Easter holidays/ Eid

Dear Parents and Carers

School will be ending for the Easter break on Friday 22nd March 2024. The children will resume school on Monday 8th April 2024.

The celebration of Eid ul-Fitr is due to take place soon after we come back to school on 8th April; we will provide you with an update on the evening of 8th April 2024.

School will be open for those who are not celebrating Eid on a particular day or who do not celebrate Eid.

Children are allowed ONE day for religious observance; please ensure that children are back to school as soon as possible to limit time lost from learning.

Wishing our Muslim families a peaceful Ramadan and our Christian families a Happy Easter.

Mrs J Adams

Head of School

Arbor App

Please use the Arbor app as the preferred way of communicating between home and school.

Sometimes we will send out text messages for more urgent matters or if you have not yet read the in-app message – these will appear as a mobile phone number. You can save this number so you will know these messages are from school.

You can also reply to text messages if you wish to update the school on something.

There will be support made available to you during parents' evening (see below); please come and see our support staff who will be happy to help with any queries.

Parents' Evening

We would like to remind you about our upcoming parents' evening on Wednesday 17th April 2024. This is an opportunity for you to discuss your child's progress. We encourage you to attend and look forward to seeing you there.

If you have not yet done so, please book an appointment with your child's class teacher on the Arbor app.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need further information.

Attendance

Please note: If your child is absent, you must inform the school on the morning of the absence. Please do this via the Arbor App or by phoning the school office.

We aim for the best education for your children at Yew Tree Community School. Full attendance and punctuality are essential for your child to make the maximum progress.

To reach the school target, pupils must not have any more than 6 days off per academic year. If you need to make appointments for your child, please aim to make them outside of school hours or during the school holidays. Thank you.

After-School Clubs

After-school clubs will start from the week beginning 15th April. Parents of all children allocated a place for each club will be informed.

Mobile Phones

This is a gentle reminder not to use mobile phones whilst on the school site.

This is part of our safeguarding policy for all our children. Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you for your kind donations for Islamic Relief, Comic Relief and the playground fund. Your generosity is much appreciated!
